Hi Everyone!
It's once again been a bit of time since having posted a blog, but thats not a bad thing! it means events and changes can happen and I can then share these things in one big juicy chunk of information.
Once again had a very successful may and we've been able to afford to pay our bills and stay alive, yay for us! win!
We recently upgraded our branding and bought new clothes with personalised branding on, and bought a load of new business cards as we seem to get a lot of requests for them but we never seem to have them. both our clothes and our cards were designed with absolute perfection curtesy of Excel Plymouth ltd, which if you haven't seen their work I would highly recommend checking them out.
Unfortunately our van broke down ( which is now fixed.. again! ) and our leafblower broke and our hedge cutter had to go in for maintenence as it was being very tempermental. so once again we have been hit with more delays which never sits well with customers, so once again we do apologise. but as the saying goes if you got livestock you got deadstock, and same goes for machines. but hopefully it will be repaired by tomorrow and will have it back in action for next week.
We're on the hunt for a second smaller van so that when our van breaks down, we still have a mode of transport to deliver our service, so if anybody knows of a good one going, let us know!
We also in recent weeks landed a very big job doing a garden conversion, which we were very excited about, we managed to get 25% of the way through the job and we thought we did a spectacular job up till then but unfortunately the client did not like the way we worked and felt we did not know what we were doing despite having 15 years of experience in the trade and unfortunately decided he wanted to try a different landscaping firm.
this certainly knocked our confidence quite a considerable amount, and have spent the last few days with brainrot clawing our eyes out wondering what we could of done better? so if anybody has any suggestions feel free to comment below.
the only things I could say from the conversations were our timekeeping was a bit sporadic, but its hard to predict times and dates in a weather, tool and logistic dependant job, especially the big ones which are estimated at 4-6 week completions, however we always keep our customers up to date on when and if we will be on site on a given day.
We did unfortunately have a delay on the wall we were due to lay, which the bricklaying firm we hired explained the reason for the delay was due to their other 2 or 3 projects taking longer than they anticipated.. so again, logistic problems.
This again was communicated, but unfortunately no matter how hard I tried to keep our customer in the loop and up to speed, it wasn't enough, and he let us go.
Sometimes these relationships don't work out, and thats okay, not every single customer will see eye to eye with you and the way you work and operate. but to us what matters is delivering the product that is purchased in a timely manner and ensuring the product is of a high standard, which we have always done and strive to maintain as that is the only way you can grow as a business.
So now we must move forward, lick our wounds and continue delivering top quality service to the rest of the south-west. we still have many many happy customers, and still many others that need help and we will continue to deliver a high quality service ( once our blower is back up and running! )
Wish us luck in delivering a spectacular June, and we will post another blog in the coming weeks with more business updates.
Lets have a good one, and have an amazing weekend guys!
