Hi all! It's been a very turbulent few months for us at JJ's Fencing & Landscaping, the business has faced some extreme financial challenges due to my own poor management of it, allowing certain things to slide when I should of stood my ground has resulted in us losing an awful lot of money. Along with this the truck has been off the road for 3 months now, far longer than it should of been and has left us in a very bad position right now. Despite our first year being profitable, year 2 has got off to a bad start, and we are currently fighting the elements of expenses trying to get the truck back and getting back into more green jobs. things could not be more stressful! However, I am determined to navigate the business through these challenges and have made some key changes to our business structure which should see us turning a profit again soon. Our focus up until recently was bigger hardscaping jobs, like patios and conversions, unfortunately due to the size of some of these jobs and the UK weather, these sometimes take longer than expected which eats into our profit margins, we've scaled this back and we focus more on the horticulture side of things instead. there are various other changes that have been made which should see higher efficiency and profit, which will hopefully get us through the winter months. If you do have any work going, please don't hesitate to contact us, we need it more than ever right now with the amount of money we've had to shell on the truck. this business isn't a cheap business to run, and requires a lot of due care and attention to what we charge and what we do. But I certainly am determined to push it through and get us back on the wagon again.
Thanks for reading.
John
